About
For over 40 years, the Riverwalk Adult Day Services has provided a Safe, Social, and Stimulating Environment for Adults in need of daytime care due to some form of cognitive decline. We now have two centers. The Riverwalk Recreational Center works with special needs adults aged 18-59 who have aged out of the school system and looking for socialization, stimulation, and community involvement. The Riverwalk Adult Day Services center is for adults 60 and above who cannot be left home alone due to some cognitive decline. In 2020, Riverwalk Adult Services Center was granted the State of Illinois, Illinois Department on Aging Community Care Program, and the US Veterans Affairs Community Care Network contracts. The contracts allow us to continue our mission to serve low-income adults in our community. With over 780,000 hours of service, we help empower families and caregivers to work or be independent during the day while their loved ones are cared for in a home-like environment by registered nurses and dementia-friendly trained activity staff.
