I'm Lauren Brdecka, the owner of CARE Counseling Inc. I teach at Northwestern University and Antioch University - Los Angeles. Counseling is a professional relationship that empowers diverse individuals, families, and groups toward growth to accomplish mental health, wellness, education, and career goals from a developmental, prevention, and wellness perspective. I specifically emphasize the integration of neuroscience in counseling practice. As a counselor educator and clinical supervisor, I am a guardian of the field, preparing new counselors and producing counseling knowledge. I work with clinicians, individuals, couples, groups, and families nationally while based in Naperville, Illinois. I am a uniquely qualified professional, having attended two nationally accredited counseling programs by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) and holding professional roles in counseling, teaching, supervision, mentoring, gatekeeping, research and scholarship, and leadership.
