Business After Hours | DuPage Children's Museum (Virtual)

Tuesday, December 8, 2020 (4:00 PM - 5:00 PM) (CST)

Description

DCM is excited to offer hands-on programs virtually!

During this one hour walk through of creativity and grit, museum educators will lead participants through activities designed to inspire and delight.

Explore a variety of STEM Labs to spark curiosity and promote critical thinking through hands-on discovery – providing academic enrichment that is fun for students and easy for their adults.

Arts & Maker activities provide children the materials, tools, inspiration, and opportunities for collaboration that truly lets their imaginations soar.

In this hands-on program, participants will answer these guiding questions: Will it fall, float, or fly? Explore the four forces of flight (thrust, lift, drag, and weight) and compare birds and planes to discover what makes a successful flying contraption. Then name your plane and decorate it to create flying art!  Materials Required* computer paper; coloring tools (crayons, markers).

Feel free to have your children join as well!

Description: We all have been faced with change these last few months, and with that comes success and failure. Everyone has had to cope with the "new normal" and adjust their lives in different ways. When it comes to our kids, they are not only following our lead, but depending on us to help guide them during remote school as at-home learning coaches. During this fireside chat, we'll reflect on our failures and how to turn those into learning opportunities for our kids during this unique time in our lives. Tips and Strategies will be discussed! It's not about how you fall, it's about how you get up.

The Success in the Balance webinar series creates an opportunity for participants to support DuPage Children's Museum by providing critical learning support to children in need. Donate Now!
