The Paid Leave for All Workers Act (PLAWA) will take effect on January 1, 2024 in Illinois. This law will provide employees with up to 40 hours of paid leave during each 12-month period, which they can use for any reason without having to provide documentation or approval from their employer.
According to the Illinois Department of Labor the new law will affect a majority of employees in the State. Written policies providing some control over the law must be in place no later than December 31, 2023.
Join the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce for this virtual event, offering the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the law, the value of having an updated policy in place, and any timely updates to the law before it goes into effect.
Brian Dougherty with Goldstine, Skrodzki, Russian, Nemec and Hoff, Ltd. will explain the key features of the Paid Leave for All Workers Act and will provide ample time to take your questions.
All registrants will be provided with a link to join the event.
