IL Chamber Lobby Day and Advocacy Seminar

Wednesday, April 15, 2026 (1:00 PM - 5:30 PM) (CDT)

Description

Government Affairs & Advocacy matters are consistently communicated through our social media, monthly e-newsletter, and programming. Ensuring our elected officials know that NACC Members are engaged and invested in legislative outcomes that impact business is a vital part of our Chamber culture.

We hope you will join us as the NACC returns to Springfield for Advocacy Day on April 15th and 16th—ALL members are invited to be part of this impactful experience!

Day 1: Advocacy Essentials Seminar | April 15 | 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Kick off the experience with Advocacy Essentials, a half-day program designed for chamber executives, board members, and staff who want to better understand the power of advocacy—and how to begin leveraging it within their organization.

Join Elliot Richardson, Co-Founder and President of the Small Business Advocacy Council, and Neil Malone, Director of Government Affairs for the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce, as they:

  • Demystify the legislative process
  • Walk through how policy moves from idea to law
  • Define your role in the advocacy process
  • Share strategies for engaging chamber membership
  • Provide a practical roadmap to get started
  • The program will conclude with an exclusive tour of the Illinois State Capitol.

Day 2: Chamber Day / Lobby Day | April 16
Continue the momentum by joining the NACC and chambers from across the state for Chamber Day, our joint Lobby Day with the Illinois Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives and the Illinois Chamber of Commerce.

This is your opportunity to meet directly with elected officials, build relationships, and gain insight into legislation that could directly impact your business and our broader community. Your presence helps demonstrate that the business community is engaged, informed, and committed to shaping thoughtful, pro-business policy.

Together, these two days provide both the foundation and the action, equipping you with the knowledge and confidence to advocate effectively, then putting it into practice where it matters most.
