JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary/Objective:

The Account Manager will have expertise in groups with various demographics and size. This position also needs experience with fully insured and self- funded plans. The person in this position will be the primary service contact for an assigned book of business and develop a strong working relationship with both the clients and carriers. Strong customer service experience and face to face interaction is an essential component for this position.

Essential Functions:

    Provide excellent day to day customer service to agents, clients and their employees. Either in person, over the phone or through electronic communication.

    Responsible for implementing new client launches including carrier involvement, communications campaign, employee correspondence, implementing and adhering to a project timeline, communicating program specific to client and information exchange (file transfers, enrollment systems, etc).

    Responsible for routine service, which includes the development and execution of service schedule, participation reporting (if relevant), and coordinating questions/initiatives with the client and carriers, conducts surveys.

    Able to handle an account from inception to renewal (so you'd handle the client renewals)

    Meets with clients alone or in conjunction with other team members. Conducts all marketing efforts as assigned by Leadership Team.

    Reviews agreements and/or documents such as employee booklets, carrier contracts, etc.

    Able to be an advocate for clients and their employees.

    Participate in monthly meetings inspired to recruit new business/groups

    Responsible for educating clients on new benefit offerings and communication strategies to existing and new clients.

    Develops prospective client proposals.

    Oversee general responsibilities of all group accounts

    Manage all customer service inquiries- including but not limited to:

    enrollment processing, terminations, billing, claims issues

    Initiate and manage assigned group’s health, dental, and ancillary renewals

    Assist with implementation of self-funded and fully insured new business

    Manage and implement all new dental/vision and ancillary business for new accounts

    Obtain all medical, dental, and ancillary quotes for self-funded and fully insured clients/prospects

    Manage Individual sales process and communicate benefits

    Update CRM with appropriate group contacts and policy information as needed

    Maintain all entries into various systems and programs under our Agency.

    Other duties as assigned.

*Supervisory Responsibility:

*This position has no supervisory responsibilities, but you do have a CSR to support you.

*Work Environment:

*This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and all forms of technology. It is possible to work from home as needed as agreed to by leadership.

*Physical Demands:

*While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

*Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

*Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It is expected that one will put in 40 hours/week as a full-time employee.

Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This is typically during the 4th quarter renewals.

Travel:

The position requires local travel. It is not expected that a person need to travel outside of the Chicagoland area except on a rare occasion.

*Required Education and Experience:

*Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience and or work experience.

    At least 3 years’ experience in the insurance industry, specifically in the employee benefits area is required.

    Minimum 2 years Account Management experience required.

    Minimum 2 years experience with fully insured and/or self-funded plans

    Demonstrated professional, tactful negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve objectives.

    Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access) or similar software applications. Note: Skill with Excel is required.

    Experience with CRM systems a plus

    Demonstrated presentation skills including preparation and execution.

    Strong project management and organizational skills.

    Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to develop sound relationships with multiple clients.

    Ability to interact with vendors effectively.

    Required insurance licenses or ability to obtain within 90 days. Licenses must be in good standing with the state.

    Good working knowledge of financial arrangements and products available to clients.
