The Food Logistics Manager will work in close collaboration with the VP of Food Operations, the Leadership team, and key volunteer leadership to support the daily activities of the organization with a focus on inventory management, order fulfillment, in addition to food sorting and processing. The Food Logistics Manager reports to and is supervised by the VP of Food Operations. The Food Logistics Manager will supervise the Assistant Warehouse Manager.


Supervision & Management

Manage the logistics and flow of product from one hub facility to the various spoke distribution locations.

Manage the day-to-day priorities of rotating and distributing perishable food and inventory. Manage the day-to-day activities of the Food Operations staff. 

Assist the VP of Food Operations with supervising and training of volunteer groups to facilitate successful daily operations of the warehouse and food handling process. 

Instruct and direct volunteers while creating a positive volunteer experience and provide instructions consistent with our policies, standards, and procedures.

Supervise the day-to-day logs for coolers, freezers, forklifts, baler and company vehicles.


Food Processing & Inventory

Manage perishable food storage and distribution.

Ensure inventory controls are used to stock shelves.

Control quality standards of perishable food products.

Supervise order picking and fulfillment along with adjusting inventory.



Manage and implement Loaves & Fishes Safety Policy and food handling standards.

Supervise a current inspection of all exit doors, fire extinguishers, and emergency equipment (including first aid kits) to ensure working order.

Schedule training meetings to keep staff updated on safety policies and procedures.




Supervisory experience

Forklift Certification and competency

Certification in forklift training

Flexibility in working hours to ensure proper warehouse coverage for various organizational activities

An ability to lift and carry 50 lbs

Full range of motion in bending, lifting and general movement

C-Class license, or ability to obtain one

Strong knowledge of Excel to maintain inventory system through data input and reporting

Minimum of High School graduate and solid competency on computer (email, Excel data entry)
