Position Title: Bilingual Case Management Specialist

Salary: Commensurate upon experience

Classification: Non Exempt, PT (*has the potential to become full-time)

Reports to: Director of Child and Family Development, Project HELP Program Manager, and Bensenville School District 2

SUMMARY: Provide case management including community outreach and seeking resources for families within the Bensenville School District. This position will work within Bensenville School District 2 and occasionally support families at the Bensenville Public Library.


COLLABORATES WITH: Collaborates with Bensenville School District and other YWCA staff members.      


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide case management support for the Bensenville School District Birth to 3 team
  • Provide referrals and seek out resources in the community
  • Parent liaison for resources and needed support for families
  • Community outreach work
  • Support Social Workers within the Bensenville School District
  • Support workshops provided to families

 

Collaboration and Communication

  • Ongoing comprehensive communication between parents, children, and school staff
  • Collaborate with Bensenville School District staff on referral services per resources offered via the Bensenville welcome center
  • Bridge gap between miscommunications or understating between home and school
  • Establish presence of service provided with school administration and staff
  • Collaborate with the Bensenville Public Library as needed
  • Build relationships with community agencies that provide resources

 

  • Paperwork and Reporting
    • Collect data on hours worked for service grant to turn in monthly to Project HELP’s Program Manager and Bensenville School District
    • Report out to Bensenville School District staff on referrals as needed
  • Skills and Additional Requirements
    • Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, children, and community partners
    • Awareness of Bensenville’s welcome center services
    • Be embedded in specific community needs and demographics population
    • Establish presence of service provided with school administration and staff
    • Intermediate skills with Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel
    • Ability to effectively present information in public and in small and large group settings
    • Effective management of shifting priorities and the need to respond effectively to crises and changing circumstances
    • Strong time management skills and ability to adapt
    • Have reliable and insured transportation

 


OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED: Other duties outside of the responsibilities of the position may be assigned, whether for a project, special needs task or other assignments, or participating in collaborations.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with cultural competence for working with diverse cultural backgrounds.


EDUCATION:  A degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university preferred.


WORK ENVIRONMENT: The essential functions of the position require operation of computers and other office equipment and movement between offices.  The noise level is usually moderate. Movement requirements include walking, stooping or kneeling. There may be a need to reach or to lift objects, such as packages or supplies. Communication needs include seeing, hearing and speaking. There will be periods of sitting, holding a telephone and using computers. Must be flexible working remotely and in-person based on Bensenville School District needs. COVID safety precautions while need to be followed working at the Bensenville Public Library and in the schools. Reasonable accommodations will be made for an incumbent to meet the essential responsibilities of the position.


WORK SCHEDULE: Ability to work flexible schedule, home visits, and travel within Bensenville area. M-F days 8am – 4pm with some nights or weekends needed based on the program’s needs.
